The Darkness Behind the Door

When a phantom moose nearly runs Theo’s car off the icy winter road on his way home from college, Theo finds himself lured into the Alaskan forest, unable to resist following the moose’s trail. Even the threat of becoming the latest victim in a string of mysterious disappearances isn't enough to deter his burning curiosity. Stumbling upon a door hidden amongst the trees—one that uncannily resembles the door to his childhood bedroom—Theo can't resist discovering what lies on the other side.

Crossing the threshold, Theo plunges into a dark, monster-infested realm. To his horror, the doorway back home vanishes, stranding him in this twisted alternate reality. Looming adult responsibilities and post-college plans are now the least of his worries, Theo must fight tooth and nail for his very survival.

As he navigates the surreal alternate reality behind the door, he discovers unexpected allies in a shapeshifting dragon named Zephyr, and an enigmatic, sword-wielding man named Archer, who suffers from a strange case of amnesia.

Archer has long held the line against the encroaching darkness—frightening realms populated by malevolent creatures and fraught with other-worldly dangers. As Theo grapples with his sense of identity and his growing feelings for Archer, a sinister phenomenon threatens to consume him; the longer he spends in this realm, the more his own memories slip away. With the darkness closing in and time running out, Theo must unravel the secrets his companions harbor and confront his own identity if he hopes to find a way back to the world he knows before all is lost to the shadows.
